Recaro Seats install

I have a pair of Recaros that I want to install in the Porsche - '77 911. I have taken the brackets off the Recaros - out of a VW Jetta (BTW - Real Recaros!) - and attempted to use the original hardware from the Porsche seat but it is noy coming together. Does anyone have some detailed photos of the install please! I have done a search etc... and cannot find details of the install. Would it be better I order new sliders for the new seats and then install? Any input would be appreciated!

When I did this I used the Recaros out of an early 90's Jetta. I had to enlarge the holes in my original Porsche sliders. Then I used a small button-head allen bolt to put the slider on the seat. The seat is installed in the car, or I would go grab you pictures. Hope that helps.

Just picked up a set of Recaro LS's this morning. Seller said they came out of a 79 911, so I'm hoping for a direct bolt-in. They're in gret shape, but the orange leather ay not look good in a blue 69. Will measure tomorrow and tell you what I found out.

It is not a direct bolt in - some adjustments are required - I just don't want to screw it up. Thanks for the info "uncle scott" that does help!

I have Recaro SRDs I pulled from Japanese integra and they bolted right to my 74 911's rails; no mod required if that helps.

I installed Recaro LSs in my car. The OEM sliders bolt right up to the seats, but I am not sure about other Recaro models. But with the LS seats, they are plug and play.

They will not bolt in to the 69. Aftermarket recaros like the LS's you picked up ARE a direct bolt in for 74 to 89 (and possibly later) 911s, but you need to buy or fab adapters for use in a longhood.

I have Recaro SE (quite similar to the LS) in my 1971. I purchased the sliders and adapters from Wedge Engineering. Hope this helps.

I have Recaro Pole Position seats in my car. Only way they fit is using the Recaro universal mounting bracket. You can buy the bracket from any vendor selling Recaro seats.....probably ebay.

Yes it does. The rail distance for the Recaros is 17.2", and the stock rails are 19". I'll look into your suggestions. Thanks.

Reifle, if the 77 is similar to my 86 then you will need some brackets to install the seat belt bolts for the inside connection. MY Porsche seat had a bolt hole for the seat belt latch. WIthout that there is no bolt hole on the Reacro (SRD) seat to attach the interior latch connection. If you can bolt it to the seat then you don't need the extra frame rails.

The seat rails are similar but difficult to reach. I had to use the front most location for the seat to rail bolts.
