You probably need to find a 16 gallon tank from an early car, '73 or older?

The best tank for a full size spare would be a 1973.5. It is the last one before the compact spares to have the swirl pot to prevent fuel starvation when cornering.
There is also this tank currently for sale on the Early S Forum, although it is slightly different from other 1973.5 tanks. It seems to be set up for a front mount fuel pump. All the other '73.5 tanks used a rear mount fuel pump. 1973.5 CIS Fuel tank - Toronto area
