here searched it I used a dremel and took my time cutting back the panel and
measuring my cuts with the C2 center panel. For mounting the C2 center
reflector panel I found two option. On my 80 SC, I purchased a steel
C2 center reflector panel from Betterbodiesmotorsports. Once I had cut
away the old SC panel I had a buddy weld in the steel C2 panel
purchased from Betterbodies. Cost was about $120.00 for new center
panel and $50.00 for welding. This was about 7 yrs ago. I recently
converted my 86 Carrera to C2 rear lighting and purchased the C2
center reflector mounting tabs from Rennspeed for about $40.00. Both
work well. The biggest issue is the left and right lights. Once you
remove both left and right tail lights and take the center reflector
off, you will see where the left an right light housing is tack welded
to the metal center reflector. From that joint, I would measure 1" to
the inside of the center panel on both sides to begin cutting out the
center panel. This will give you leeway to make final centering
adjustments. On the C2 left and right tail lights, there is a small
black 1" arm/hook. You will have to measure the placement of that arm
in the housing and drill a small hole through the thin metal divider
where the left/right metal housing joined the metal center reflector.
The arm will sit in the hole and hold the light into the housing. Next
you will have to cut out the metal triangle where the light is secured
with a screw. You will have to manufacture some kind of bracket to
mount on the inside of the light housing so that you will be able to
secure the light into the housing using a screw.
