I need to change my shifter in my 1980 911 and a guy offered me to sell me a used Weco shifter. I havent heard of this shifter and was woundering if anyone has any experience with this brand. If you were buying a shifter which one would you recomend.

+1 on Bob's theory.
Before purchasing, find out exactly what years the shifter will fit and what comes with the purchase(complete, ready for install or not). If I could justify the cost to the money manager(wife) I would but a WEVO without hesitation.

The Wevo shifter is a beautiful piece of kit. Well made and very nice to use...
However because of its centre spring for 3 and 4th there has been some debate of it accelerating the wear of the shift rods and forks inside the gearbox. Personally I don't see how this could be true because of the mechanical layout inside the gearbox. The forks are for and aft and the spring centre doesn't place any pressure in this area.
