911S wire from the motor to the ??

I have the motor out and have all parts disconnected, but there is 1 wire harness that runs what looks like all the way up to the ignition point. This runs along side the starter solenoid wires but obviously the endpoint of the solenoid wires terminate at the solenoid, these are disconnected. How do I disconnect this wire harness? At the coil?
