breather hose, where does it go?
I know I should have marked it but I forgot. I just got done switching out my air box on my 76 CIS. I forgot to run the breather hose to my crank case breather and don't know where the other end is supposed to go.
thanks |

If you have a stock set-up there are actually four breather hoses counting the one that attaches to the shroud. On the passenger side of the air box the "tightly curved - looks almost kinked - hose" attaches to a nozzle off the oil tank. The hose from the breather cap on the top, front of the engine (this hose is typically routed under the air box and through the intake runners) attaches to a second nozzle on the oil tank. The hose attached to the driver's side of the air box runs to the left and then back around the front part of the engine compartment to a charcoal cannister on the passenger side just forward of the oil tank filler neck. The breather hose coming off the engine shroud on the driver's side follows a similar route to the charcoal cannister. If these hoses are original they are long overdue for replacement. Pelican sells them all; some you buy by the foot (meter). An old stiff hose off the breather cap on the top, front of the engine is one likely source of oil on the top of the engine. Cheers, Jim
