Access to shift coupler?

Hi I just ordered the new bushings from the coupler whisperer. But, I don't know how to find it, and remove it from the car (82 SC). Is it between the seats on the hump in the back under the carpet, or is removal from under the car? Any help appreciated. Thanks.

Yes, inside the car under a metal plate beneath the carpet, held on with a few screws.

As rwest posted PLUS I would suggest you mark the position in realation to the shift linkage so you can get close to where it is now. You will still have to adjust but maybe just a little.

Easy job and one of the best upgrades you can make for under $100! Mark before you take it apart though.
