Aluminum Accents-pictures ???

I am looking for pictures (late 80's 911's) of interiors with some interior aluminum accents. Gauge trim, brake, etc. Trying to decide if I want to make some updates.

Thanks

I don't have any photos yet, but will probably be installing grey gauge faces this weekend to accent my aluminum-colored Momo wheel, shifter knob and pedals. My interior is all black and I think the aluminum color is a very nice accent. I say go for it.

Johnnie I had seen those at imagine auto and that was why I was asking to see what others had done.

That would be where I ordered them from. I just didnt want it to look guady (sp?). Just looking for a more updated interior.

I have the aluminum pedals and dead pedal which I really like and I had to swap out the glass on my fuel gauge and you have to really work at the black metal trim so I was thinking rather than put the old one back on, put the aluminum.

Richard post a picture when you get it done. Thanks and any others please post some pictures for some ideas.

Wish they made that shift knob that is in the newer models with the Porsche crest on it. I think Tweeks has them but they are for Boxsters and newer 911's.

Not a late 80's 911, but what's the difference?

I opted for the subtle pedal accents only.

Paul - I have the same brake and clutch pedal, but went with the Wings Engineering Gas pedal for better heel and toe (and looks) and the dead pedal I think came from AJ USA. I was thinking the rings on the gauges, power switches and maybe the door handles would be enough accents to look more updated.

Saw and Audi TT with lots of aluminum or chrome accets around gauges, shifter, etc. and I liked the look of it.

Guys, how do the gauge Bezels fit? Do they simply glue in place?

What about the side 'turbo' sills? They just glue in place?

Great looking car! Yes, that is exactly what I was looking for with respect to the interior.

Couple of questions:

1. Did you have your 930 console redone or purchase a new one ( I found one at better bodies. I have a non turbo so my console does not go up to the dash, but I would like it to).

2. I am guessing you did not do the bezel changes yourself since you changed the Tach and clock. Did you ship them to North Hollywood or one of the other respected gauge repair facilities? How much?

3. The radio looks like it is not there. I assume it has the hideaway display. Did you put a Porsche decal on the back side?

4. I have the K40 installed, but at speed with the stereo its not that loud. Was going to remount the sensor to the rear and get a Valentine. But I hate the thought of it on the windshield and a wire running out of it. How did you install yours? I didnt notice it, but will go re-examine the pictures.

Thanks again and great looking car.

WydRyd- the bezel is crimped and a pain in the butt to get off (damaged the hidden edge of it) and I guess you just re-crimp them to get them back on. I am thinking of sending mine out to get them redone by a pro.

Doug, where did you get the die-cast Black Carrera model, and where can I get one? I've been looking for a Carrera model for a while, unsuccessfully.

Jared
