Heater Hose question

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1337122598.jpg
Could someone please tell me where the end of the heater hose (item 27) in the diagaram terminates in the dash area. The hose is ripped and I have it disconnected from the control box (15). I thought I would ask before I pulled hard.
Thanks

I believe that goes down to the footwell blowers, if you have those in the passenger kick panel (I have an '84). I'd remove the panel cover (3 screws if yours is as mine) to confirm. That tubing isn't too expensive if you want to replace it though.

Good luck

I should have mentioned in the previous post, its a 69 Targa

IIRC, that is the tube from the heating channels that run through the rockers. If you look closely at the top of the carpet panels on the sides of the foot wells you will see the tube as it goes through the bulkhead in one direction, and down behind the carpet in the other.

Its a PITA replacing that hose, you may destroy hoses 17 and 23 if they are old and brittle. 27 goes through a rubber gasket in the firewall down to the tube from the rockers via the footwell. I think its easier to remove the carpet and when refitting leave the footwell end of the flexible pipe hanging free until you have the vent flap assembly 16 back in position and the rubber gasket seated correctly and 17 and 23 in position. I would replace the rubber gasket if I had to do the job again, after 40 years they lose flexibility.

I think 28 is the rubber gasket.

Thanks for the help. As you described, once the carpet was removed from the upper side of the footwell, the tube was accessible and I was able to replace it with new hose. I was able to salvage the rubber gasket and the other hoses, so all that is left to do is re-glue the carpet.
