Where would you look for a 3.2 turbo and what would you expect to pay for it?

In California, nowhere and nothing. Any turbo 3.2 will be aftermarket, and will not be able to pass CA smog. The only thing you could legally pull off is a 3.3 from a late 930, or a 3.6 from a 964 or 993 turbo. You would still end up having to go to a Smog referee to get it to pass.

I think the 3.6L swap would be the better of the two. Of course withnthe turbo motor, you could always add bigger turbo, and intercooler, to get more HP.

No less than $10K for a 3.6 transplant.

No less than $13K for a 3.3 turbo transplant.

No less than $12K for a 3.2 + phase one turbo transplant.

If your motor is in good condition, you should be able to offset the cost by about $4500.

All assuming you do the work and you find a motor that is not in need of work.

I was convinced that I needed the torque found in a 3.6 transplant. That was until my first DE at Willow Springs. After that I realized the driver needs to be upgraded. Much cheaper alternative.

I know you didn't ask for this last impute, but I thought I would offer. My DE saved me thousands on a motor upgrade. Of course I can't go faster in a straight line and I've purchased a roll bar, a set of harnesses, and trying to figure out a way to tell the wife I now need a second set of FM-10s.
