What flare is on the front? Turbo style or SC/Carrera? A 7 inch wheel is about the widest you can fit COMFORTABLY under SC/Carrera flares. If you have the Turbo style, an 8 inch or 9 inch wheel is doable. Here's my SC with 16x7 on 205/55 front, and 8 inch on 245/45 replica Fuchs.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1337294506.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1337294531.jpg |

7&8s will fit well, look great and run 205/225 tires. 7&9s will look great as well, and run 205/245, a harder rear tire to get. You can run a 944 turbo 8'' front with a 9'' in back, and run a 225/245 combo. You will need to roll the front fenders. There are now a number of aftermarket replica Fuchs wheels in 17 inch sizes. You can run a 225/245 (or greater) tire combo on these wheels without rolling. The Rota Fox wheels are a little hard to get but are very attractively priced. I have run the 7&8s on my 78 Targa, and the Fox wheels on a lightly modified Carrera. The 17s are very crisp. The 7&8s are feelsome. If you are looking for performance, it is hard to beat the 17 inch replicas. I personally would rather run a better tire at 225 on the rear than a cheaper 245 alternative, and I would rather run a narrower tire on wider rim than a wider tire on a narrow rim. |

It sounds like you have turbo style flares based on the wheel size. If that's that case you can run some serious rubber. |
