It's been a long time coming for me. As of this month, doors have opened wide for you at my new show. Feel free to drop by and check out my latest restoration projects. Currently working on my own 1966 911. Also, a currently yellow and soon to be an original Silver 1967 911S. Also, a currently yellow and soon to be an orginal Lime Green 1974 Carrera Euro Targa. It's busy here but always time for kicking tires with the boys. Special thanks to you guys on this forum for all your contribution and support. Here is a few shots of the first car rolling out of my shop. A very special 1974 Carrera 911 in Lime Green. Special thanks to John Hollaran for the complete restoration of the 2.8 power plant...the car pulls amazingly, Ben at Retro-Sport for engine install and tuning...guys does not stop til the engine is dialed perfectly. I have said before and will say again, Harvey Weidman's wheels make my restoration projects look complete. Owner of this beauty is Steve Silva. Thanks Steve for your letting me be part of a dream come true for you....

Now on my Bucket List:
Have Freddie do a repaint on my less than perfect DIY paint job. He is close enough to be on the top of the short list.

Nice car! One of my favorite colors. Where'd you find the tires for it?

The tires are Good Year Eagle GT's, which were recommended by Harvey, the master of Fuchs refinishing.

Love it, really nice. Maybe one day I will try one

I was thinking that those were discontinued in the 225/50-15 size, which is what I assume that you have on the rear, which is why I was asking where you got them. If you got them recently, I'd appreciate knowing where, as I need a set for a car.

They are 215/50/15's in the rear. I got them thru Tire Rack

stevesc_us 05-18-2012 10:14 AM

Correction: I meant to say 205/60/15's in the rear.

stevesc_us 05-18-2012 10:15 AM

Geez. third times a charm. They are 215/60/15's. Sorry for the confusion.

Congrats - just don't put Bruce Canepa out of business!

Congratulations Freddie! A good thing Raceline didn't make the cut, VSR is definitely better.

A 2.8 (92x70.4=2808 cc?) CIS.
What CR?
What P&Cs?

I'm still waiting for the detailed build sheet with all the specs. From my memory, they are JE pistons with nickies, 93mm, and a 9:5 compression. The cam has an SC sport grind. As you may not be able to tell from the lower engine pics, both the SSI's and the exhaust have been ceramic coated to more accurately reflect the finish from the factory. I'm a big believer in ceramic coating for not only better heat dissipation, but also for a more long lasting finish even with stainless steel.

Here's a link to Retro-Sports website with many detailed photos of the mechanical setup on the car including Elephant Racing's ribbed external oil cooler lines combined with an OEM trombone cooler. Ben and his one man crew did a great job on this aspect of the build as well.
