Throttle linkage differences between '86 and '87

I'm having trouble getting my throttle to return all the way back to closed. I'm using an '89 motor in my '86 Carrera and I've noticed that the '87-89 cars only have one long throttle return spring under the left intake bank instead of 2 like the earliers car. Does anyone know if there are any additional differences in the throttle linkage between '86 and '87+?
Perhaps a different spring or something?
TIA,
Chris

Chris,

My 87 has two throttle return springs under the intake. Also, the linkage rod that goes from the bell crank on the trans. to the bell crank under the intake has a half-circle bend in the middle of it. I believe this bend is to give clearance between the rod and the drive axle due the to the change to the G50 trans.

That's all I know.

Thanks Kevin, I looked at an '87 yesterday and it didn't have the 2nd spring. My '89 doesn't even have that boss that sticks down from the intake for it. Strange...
