What to do with rear Bilstein Sport plastic bump stop insert?

Just got new Bilsteins in the mail. The rears have two bump stops under the dust cover. One is the typical hard rubber and is 2.5 inches long. The other is a white, hard plastic piece that is 1.5 inches long. Do I remove the plastic piece before I install or is it part of the bump stop? Car is at euro height. Thanks!

I wore out a set of Yokohama tires learning that the stock internal bump stops in Bilstiens leave you with essentially zero suspension travel at Euro ride height.

I actually ended up jacking one front wheel up independently and found that with all the stops I had about 1 cm of suspension travel in the front. I cut my rubber stop in half (I didn't have a plastic stop in mine) and have lived happily ever after. If I recall, there were some serrations in the rubber stop and I left one serration in it.

So you threw out the plastic piece and eventually cut the rubber bump stop? I went ahead and took out the plastic piece, but now wondering if I need to trim the rubber bump stop.

Mine never had a plastic piece, and yes, I cut the rubber stop as short as I dared...idea is that I would rather have torsion bar suspension than rubber bump stop suspension.

10-4, thanks.

I guess the plastic piece must be there for shipping.

How about picking up the phone and asking Bilstein in San Diego? Many cut the rubber part for the track but there'd be no point for street use. Don't know about the plastic part.
