Paul always treated me right when I did work for him back in his Seattle location. At the time he had a Great team of mechanics that since have all made a names for themselves in the Porsche world. It was nice to cruise through his massive inventory of parts when you needed that little something. RIP!.................

RIP Paul,

I'll think about you tonight when I fire up the motor you rebuilt 16 years and 80k miles ago.

R.I.P. Paul & my Condolences to the family.
I never had the pleasure of meeting him, but did speak to him over the phone when I had him to a PPI on a 74 Carrera, one of the reasons I was hoping the car would have passed was that I would have had the chance to meet him. I fully understand dealing with health issues & this economy, both can take a real toll on a person, no matter how strong they may have been, nobody wants to be a burden:(..

Realy sorry to read about this, being from the UK i didnt know paul, but reading through the comments here it would be very difficult to not see how important he was to the porsche comunity, he was also and obviously a very well liked individual, in business thats half the battle.
Thank you Laura for sharing your brother's story with us, it must be very hard on you and your family at this time.
RIP Paul.

Anthony.

In Memory of Paul Weir

I knew Paul since we were in our teens. He was a car guy... I was a car guy so we had a connection from the start.

In my experience Paul was always kind and treated everyone with respect. I feel very fortunate to have been able to spend several days last fall with Paul as I'm the one who purchased his 1967 Ford Fairlane. We talked about the past... present and future.

I believe I understand why Paul made this last decision and have a great deal of compassion and respect for him… feeling that what he did was quite brave. I’m sure his decision didn’t come lightly and with a great deal of thought. He passed with dignity and has the ability to now travel faster than the speed of light. God speed Paul… God speed.

If anybody has more of those license plate holders, I’d love to put one on the Fairlane when it’s competed.

My deepest sympathy to the Weir family and thank you Laura for sharing.

I have two more that have never been used.

Let me know where to send them, and they will be on the way.

Paul Weir

I am just sick to learn about Pauls passing. 5 years ago he rebuilt the engine in our 1975 911s Silver Anniversay edition. He was a great guy and we had a lot in common, I will mis him! I know his health was a bummer and he stuggled in the business world but he really new his stuff and our car still works great and leaks no more oil. My sincere condolences to his sister Laura!

Paul was my son

Joining my daughter Laura I thank you all for your kind comments about Paul. Reading them was very gratifying and I was pleased to realize that so many people thought so well of Paul. I especially thank Chris, who wrote the first insightful piece on this blog and Armando, who posted Paul’s website. I notice a number of you live in or near Snohomish County; our family is planning a BBQ and Celebration of Paul’s life next Saturday, June 2nd at noon. If any of you would like to join us you would be welcome. For the location details just contact my boyfriend Marc at hdmarc at yahoo dot com. – Sally Rose Weir

This is such sad news.

RIP, Paul, until I join you up there some day. Together, we'll listen to the sweet roar of a 935 flying down the Mulsanne straight.

My sincere condolences to his loved ones.

I am so sad to hear he passed. When I started with my 935 project many years ago HE WAS THE ONE whoe helped me so much with parts, always friendly and helpful, I am really so sad....

Celebration of Paul Weir's life 6/2/12

Thanks to all who were able to join us for our celebration of Paul's life on Saturday. It was a beautiful day in so many ways. Friends who have known Paul from as far back as elementary school showed up. There were so many stories and much laughter and some tears. What really struck me was how much Paul was liked in his Porsche community. Not that this is too surprising, but it was gratifying for me, as his sister and for my mother and brother Mark to know how much others loved him as well.

Another thing that struck me was how many stories I heard about Paul calling a friend and saying "I'm in your neighborhood. Can I stop by and see you. Let's go for a ride in the Turbo Carerra," or maybe just "Let's grab a beer and catch up.". He actively sought friends out over the years, whenever he could. There was one comment on the Seattle Times obituary from Paul's high school shop teacher who clearly remembered Paul after more than 30 years. Paul impacted so many people and he died knowing he had many good friends.

I'm havin a little trouble uploading a few photos but hope to have those posted soon.
