At start up I have a buzzing noise that stays present even while driving the car. As soon as I start the car the noise appears and never goes away. It was present in the winter yet just not as loud as in the summer. I was told that it too may be my fuel pump, yet was cautioned that all pumps are noise makers......This is agravating. Need some input.

It is almost certainly your fuel pump. Warm weather and a low gas tank can make it noisier as this means warmer fuel and the possibility of cavitation as the warm fuel passes through the pump and literally boils (and makes more noise). The pumps can become noiser as they age and wear. A new pump ($$$) or a rebuilt pump ($$) may or may not ease the problem. Most of the pumps are mounted on sound and vibration isolating rubber bushings which can harden with age. You might try replacing the bushings. Airborne noise may be damped by covering the pump with acoustical insulation but I wouldn't recommend it as it'll also trap heat in the pump. Cheers, Jim

That buzzing could be the relay for the fuel pump. I had a problem with mine buzzing and after I made a slight adjustment to the fuel system the problem went away.
