Sportomatic Clutch Question
If you were doing the clutch on your Sportomatic would you replace the turbine shaft. See the part circled in red below. This part appears to insert into the torque converter housing and appears to be like a secondary flywheel that makes contact with one side of the clutch disc. Opinions from Sporto owners who've done the job would be appreciated!

clutch
I didn't feel the need to replace mine when I put in a clutch.

Can I assume that it worked like a champ after the clutch job? Did you re-use the old release bearing as well?

Yes, it is working like a champ now, not that it didn't before. The clutch was a 'while you're in there' type of thing, if you know what I mean.
I was lucky and found a NOS throwout bearing at the clutch shop I used. The old one would have worked too, as they pressed it apart and re-lubed it. I kept it as a backup. I originally pulled the engine/trans to replace the vacuum servo. I thought the 'noise' I was getting when the clutch is disengaged was the TO bearing but it makes the same noise with the new one in place, so I believe the noise I'm hearing is the aux oil pump pushing the oil thru the torque converter.
