Need help with 993 rebuild - Rod bearings
I was inspecting the parts before starting the assembly of the engine and I found some inconsisten (for me) information.
On the factory manual it states that when the crank is repair for the first time it is marked with blue dots. I see these dots on my crank (see pics - they don't look blue in the pics but they are blueish). But then, I took the measurements where the rods attach (big ends) and I got all of them within the specifications for the "standard" measurement. Then I looked at the old rod bearings and the STD mark is NOT present on them. So, I am confused!!! ![]() ![]() Do I need to use STD bearings given that the size of the big ends on my crank are within the standard specification? Why do the old rod bearings do not have the STD mark on them? Her are some images to explain it better. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
