Nice interesting color.

Listen carefully to your car. It has lots to tell you.

The no tail look suits it very well.

That car is way to good looking for someone with only 1 post. Cool colors.

Thank you for the warm welcome everybody.

GaryR - I'm located in Seattle, WA (Fremont neighborhood specifically).

I looked at *many* red and black 911s for the 1984-1989 years before settling on this one. The granite green color in real life looks much more grey than green and it really suits this car.

80,000 miles. 5 speed transmission.

The interior of the car has a welded roll cage, sparco evo L seats, schroth 6 point harness, and koni shocks.

This is my first 911 - a few initial impressions - all from driving around in the city.

- *love*, *love*, *love* the way this thing sounds - in particular the roar of the engine.
- steering requires some strength (non-power steering?)
- there is a fair amount of play in the brakes - i.e. (have to depress fairly hard down to get the car to slow down before coming to a dead stop - do I need to get them replaced?)
- car drives like it's on rails - feels like a go-kart that handles incredibly well.

Any recommendations on upgrades to further enhance the driving experience?

thanks!

Get the brakes flushed and put in some Motul 600 fluid (good for street and track). You may need to replace the rubber lines that go between the calipers and the hard lines, OEM rubber is just fine. You also may have race pads in there that need a lot of heat to start biting, if driving street only get a normal pad in there that works. Do you have the 3-point belts also? I would hesitate to use a 6-point harness without a HANS device or similar, any frontal impact and you are trying disconnect your head from your body, but that just me... Fresh Mobil 1 V-Twin in the engine, OEM Filter, and new Synthetic in the G50.

For upgrades - Join PCA, get involved with the Driver's Education program and learn to drive the car. Upgrade yourself after taking care of the brakes and any minor maintenance issues.
