85 carrera engine &trans out for clutch

The car was running fine when put away for winter, upon taking out in the spring this year I could not get it to slip into gear. Four months later with a plan to drop the engine and trans (suspecting a broken clutch fork) I started the car to heat the oil up for draining. I got thoroughly smoked out of the shop! Guessing oil got by my valve seals. This engine ran great prior with no signs of oil burn or use.
I've dropped the engine and trans and did indeed discovered the broken clutch fork. The clutch disc is stamped 3/89. Car has 108k miles and apparently only one clutch job prior. I plan to order the clutch super kit less the helper spring, clutch cable etc as I replaced all those new prior to determining the fork to be bad. Did see signs that the crank seal was leaking once the flywheel was off.
Any help would be appreciated in reference to seals I should plan to replace on engine & trans as well as possibly valve seals since i had so much smoke after sitting several months. I did just install Billstein rear shocks (hd) since accessibility was so easy. I really enjoy driving the car and would like to keep it in as good a shape a possible.

replacing valve stem seals only is just a band-aid, as you probably know. the real issue is probably worn valve guides, which is part of a complete valve grind job. you can usually go by oil consumption to determine if the job is necessary. a qt in 1000 is normal, but a qt in 300-400 is not.

I appreciate that John and will be sure to keep a closer watch on oil consumption. A valve job isn't in the cards for me at the moment, I'm anxious to get a few miles on through fall and before winter. I just ordered dempseys rebuilding book so I'll read up on that for my next project.
