Alberta 911 Windshield replacement needed
 

Just got a quote for $2,300 to replace the front windshield in my 88 911 Targa - apparently glass has to come from dealer and when I called Crystal Glass they said they don't even have a listing for the glass anymore - has anyone replaced recently and who did you use? I am in Edmonton but no problem making a drive to get this done.

I would drive to the US to get this done at that price - crazy!

That must be part of the "Canadian tax" that does that... You probably need the W/S with the radio antenna embedded which will boost the cost a bit. Still, that price is kinda insane. I'm surprised Crystal Glass doesn't have it. If you could get the glass from somewhere, there's probably a couple people up here that would help you put it in. Give me a shout if you get some glass and want to give it a go.

Try Dominion Auto Glass in Calgary(403 2508930). Ask for Craig. Quite sure he will do it for less than $1000. He does a lot of Porsche glass work.

Got a much better quote of 875 installed at All West Glass in Edmonton - I will give Craig a call at Dominion in the morning - thx for the lead.

I replaced mine earlier this year for less than $600. Bought the new seal from Pelican and a local glass installer provided an after market windshield with radio antennae...looks good no complaints....smooth install.
