Charcoal Canister - '81 911SC

Can someone please post an image of their original factory canister? I ordered a replacement from Porsche and the one I received is a updated part (see photo); much longer than the original. Its also cylindrical, not odd-shaped like the original. Thanks.

I have an 83 SC and that looks nothing like the one I have!!

I will try to post a picture tonight of mine. I do not see how this will fit into the clamp bracket that holds it to the side of your engine compartment.

Yes, the original is rectangular and somewhat flattened with a chamfered end. This one must be for a Carrera...

Thanks for posting that photo when you get a chance!

When I bought my '80 SC it looked like a VW part in there. I picked up a correct, used one from a Porsche salvage yard.

Garage
This is off of my 81. Left side in pic faces the rear bumper and nothing attaches to it (single big port in center). Early SCs/late 2.7s had a hose that entered the fiberglass shroud over on the distributor side from that port. The 81 does not.

Big hose on right enters airbox on drivers side. Small port on right is for the hose leading from the expansion tank in the inner drivers front fender.
