emac - I have had USAA for 24 years. They have been excellent to deal with. Some firms are a bit cheaper, but you get what you pay for. Have only had the 911 for 11 months, so I can't speak to the claim service on classic cars, but we quickly agreed on an insured value over the phone with the car's parameters/specifications.

bauerjy - I have had USAA for close to 50 years and they are very good but I was unable to get classic car insurance with them some years ago. To me that means agreed value insurance where if the vehicle is totaled you get an already agreed upon amount. I don't believe insured value is the same. If it is I may call them back. I now have Hagerty for both Porsches and am well pleased with them although it comes with some restrictions.

Been with them 25 years or more, I forget. USAA customer support is really stellar.

I also have USAA full coverage on the car, I did not go for classic car insurance due to the amount I drive the car, otherwise I have had great experience with them with past cars as well.

I also have been wondering what they consider for value, I need to contact them to find out.

I feel sorry for those people who are ineligible to get USAA insurance.

Outstanding organization, customer service is the benchmark for everyone else.

Don't even hesitate, run and get it. At the end of every year they'll give you a disbursement in the form of a check.

No need to compare prices because there's are 1 of the lowest.

Last time I talked with them, they were referencing Kelly Blue Book prices as opposed to NADA prices. Difference was about $8K for my car at the time. I still have my car insured with them...customer service is excellent.

How's this- they are such a good insurance company that they have all of our banking and investment business as well. I never have to wonder if they are being straight-up 100% honest with me, and that is huge. As mentioned above, their service is stellar. I had a MB diesel wagon stolen in Poland (720 cars a day stolen in Warsaw, I was told), and they offered me a settlement. I thought it was a little low, and they agreed to the amount I stated. Exceptional company.

Gamin - I will have to go back and look at what the policy says specifically about agreed or insured value. Mine is not a pristine example, but a near DD.

I used to be with USAA for 10 years and left in 2011 (Navy vet). They were EXCELLENT for auto insurance, but HORRIBLE for home owners insurance. I watched two good friends go thru horrible experiences with USAA on the homeowners side (one lost their house in a fire that was not their fault, the other lost it in Hurricane Katrina) and it was not pretty.

I left b/c my new insurer (Allstate) gave me a much better deal if I had all my policies with them. I wish I could have kept USAA for auto insurance only, but it didn't work out. A+ on the auto side. Be careful on the homeowners side.

I have been with USAA for 25 years. ALL my stuff is with them except home insurance. Best checking/savings bank ever!

Super honest people. Mechanics and body shops rest at ease when you tell them you are insured with USAA.

Best company ever!!

I have been insured by them for 45 years. They are absolutely the best for Auto AND HOMEOWNERS.

We had our home destroyed in the Northridge earthquake and they were amazing. I stopped talking to my neighbors about our coverage, because they were all having big problems with their insurance companies......and we were the opposite. I currently have my 7 cars covered by them and house as well. All of my kids have USAA for their households and cars.

Every claim has seen exceptional customer service.

Highly recommended for insurance, banking, wealth management etc..

Been with USAA for over 40 years for auto and home, no complaints and very few claims but all handled fairly and very well.

I've had usaa for almost 30 years. Two accidents, two stolen cars, and nothing but fantastic service. They have all my insurance business. Did you know that their headquarters in San Antonio is the second largest building (behind the Pentagon) in terms of covered ground?

I always get a nice check back from USAA every year. Can't remember what they call it but it's basically a rebate if their cost and clams are down.
