Need 964 turbo aero mirror advice

Hey guys I am removing the aero mirrors on my 1991 964 turbo. This is proving to be a pain. I have the mirror taken apart, but there is no connector in the door to disconnect the wiring. How do you get the wiring out of the mirror?

you have to take the glass out, remove the motor and remove the pins from the connector and then slide the wiring through the mirror base. PITA... OR, you can unplug them from behind the front fenders and take the whole wiring out of the door which is also a major PITA...

I am beyond frustrated. Why in the world would they not put a simple connector on the mirror wiring? I might see if I can find out where the wiring in the fender is. Is it a connector or am I going to have to cut wiring anyway? I am putting 935 mirrors on the car so it will never have the electric mirrors on it again. Are some of the aero mirrors heated? I am thinking mine are, but not sure.

I said the same thing when i took apart my first pair and ive said it when ive taken apart my 30th pair.. Someone was NOT thinking!! Once you do a few its not so bad, (taking the pins out of the connector) but if you are never going to use the wiring, you might as well cut it, or leave it taped up inside your door in case someone wants to go back original one day. As far as under the fender, its a connector. Its near the windshield bottom corner under the top rearward section of the fender. You could unplug it there and pull the whole assembly out of the door.

you can see the hole in the body where the connector goes for reference. Same place on both sides. Same kind of connector as the rear tailights on the earlier cars.

Thanks buddy! I just cut the dang wires lol...idiotic design! If the mirrors have two brown wires attached to the glass does that mean they are heated I assume?
