Beating a dead horse, Tires again
I looked thru all the threads and what I have come up with is the following info for R rated tires. In order from stickiest to less
Hoosier The biggest bucks and worst wearing, not to mention that even their DOT tires are not supposed to be used on the street so you have to have a second set of tires and haul them to the track. Kumho Victoracer or V700(?) Toyo RA1 Yoko A032R Any others? At the moment I have 16x7 Fackes on my car, Yoko 520's 205 and 225, These are way to big and the only reason they fit is that the PO seems to have jacked the car up as much as it will go on its suspension. I probably have bump steer from the other direction. I have a set of 6 and 7"-15" Fuchs and wanted to use 195-60 and 205-50 tires on them as that is as big as I think I can squeeze under my fenders with a more reasonable suspension height, I might not even be able to use the 7" on the rear as I don't have any flares, just rolled lips. But I'm not sure I can find a high performance 195. Any suggestions, keeping in mind I want something streetable that will work well for autocrosses and some track use. I don't expect to be that competetive, I don't have the horsepower, but I do want to have fun.
