early start. Meet around 7:30am, hit the road by 8:00am to miss the crowds and traffic.

We could meet at the rest area right on the Palisades?

We could take 2 routes:
one that would take us to the top of the mountain.
or...one that will take us toward Sterling Forrest. this one dumps us back on Route 17 so that could be your escape home.

....the meeting area is right in the middle of the Palisades Parkway just after exit 4 and before exit 5 (driving north).
you could see by the image above it's huge.
to it's advantage, it has gas station and coffee shop....and a LARGE parking lot so we could separate ourselves from the general population and not get in the way.

I'd figure getting there around 8:00am is good...hopefully we're outa there by 8:30ish so we out before traffic really starts to build

Looks like I woke up a sleeping dragon by stripping the interior. I definitely need to go for a drive as soon as the car gets back. Guess better to deal with these issues at the shop and not the side of the road.
