If you have a Blaupunkt Monterey, can you do me a favor?

I'm trying to figure out why my tape deck in my Monterey automatically ejects a cassette immediately after it is inserted. Can someone press their eject button WITHOUT a cassette in and tell me if the button moves. My eject button doesn't go in regardless if a cassette is in or not. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Mine does the same thing. But I don't have any cassettes anymore, so I never really cared. Maybe it is an M491 thing?

Yeah, I bought one of those iPod cassette adapters and it won't stay in...

I run a bluetooth / fm modulator device. Works fine.

Cassette players have a sensor to eject the tape if the take up reel is not turning. A broken belt or a dirty drive wheel will give the symptom you describe.I dont have any direct knowledge of the Monterrey.

I have a Reno and use the same type of device. I can push the button in with or without the cassette inserted.

Thanks everyone! The (possibly) good news is that take up reel spins. Anyone know what would cause the eject button to not move at all? I know nothing about electronics, but I would assume it would be a mechanical issue of some sort. Anyone had one of these apart and know the internals? I called Wilford Wilkes in PA (vintage radio repair), but he said my 1985 radio is too new for him .

Porsche Crest Try Radioman

I sent a Monterey to these guys: www.radiomanrepair.com and they did a nice job (cleaning, adjusting, testing) for about $75 if memory serves. They do not do anything about the appearance of the radio.
