ANOTHER eBay monstrosity!

Well, here we go again....

I found this one while looking for oil coolers...
Same colour and year as mine, that's about as similar as they get.

1976 911

What kind of door handles are they? Yuk!
Where are the sills?
Did he leave the speedster canopy in the sun too long?
There's no roof!!

LOL those doorhandles and that windshield frame make it look rather "homegrown" to me

I almost fell out of my chair when I saw his desired prices. Then I remembered that he is talking Aussie $'s, not $US. I'm not sure if I follow his logic that this car is "better then a '76" 911. Was it assembled by factory trained technicians in Zuffenhausen ? Is the fit and finish better then the factory's? Is the engine better? Let's give him credit for something - he married a smart women. She doesn't want to drive the thing!

Oh never mind, I'm just being cynical.

BTW: I believe that revealing the reserve in the ad is an Ebay No-no.

RE: The right side pic on the bottom of page:

Looks like the right rear wheel a little biased towards the front of the wheel well opening...

Did you notice the fuel filler flap is on the right side fender? Is this correct for a right hand drive vehicle? I thought it was the same on all 911's???

Nah, eBay doesn't care one way or the other. Most sellers don't like revealing it because everyone tends to gravitate to that amount. What eBay doesn't like is when bidders feel out the reserve by bidding incrementally until the reserve disappears, then retract the bid. Used to happen all the time, which is why they're tougher on bid retractions now.

I believe that certain of the running gear parts might be salvageable. So maybe worth $1000.
Less the bad taste fine of $10000, that leaves this guy...... owing us $9000 Aus

"THIS IS NOT A 1992 CARERRA"

And its not even a 1992 C-A-R-R-E-R-A. Thank the seller for clarifying what would obviously fool everyone.

I can't be a 1992 body kit per se. 1992 bumpers are all glass. They don't have rubber bumper guards or any rubber strips. In fact, the rear bumper is completely stock, or at best a ROW 84-89.

Notice the front windshield. Looks like somene just hacked it and pushed into the front trunk area until it was low enough to be 'speedsterish'. Is that just me, or is there something funky going on with the 'speedster' windshield?

And of course, the most obvious point is, there is no picture from the front. The question being, Why? The windshield? The fact that you'll be able to tell it does NOT have a 92 bumper---that they removed the bellows and made it look less rubbery?

"I have previous insurance papers with an insured value of $25,000"

The best thing this guy could do is push it off a bridge and collect.

I'm sure there's somewhere Down Under this thing could be "lost"
