+1 AND you're driving the SC like it is your 912. Shifting is your friend and 3rd gear is much taller than you think. You still may think that you need more power but that will also equate to potentially getting in more trouble and I've found my SC to be the perfect medium between to much and to little power...although it has still gotten me into a bit of trouble with the CHP now and again

Point taken on the bucket, will get one for future events...in regards the power only on the back straight I would have liked some more, it had lots of torque around the bends. I started to shift more as I got more comfortable with the car as the day went on.

What group lets you run around Mosport in a baseball cap?

There's enough power to scare yourself if you push hard enough ...
+2 on the helmet thing !!!

I thought you needed helmets with any lapping group on a race track, especially Mosport which has a few unforgiving corners !

Cheers !

Come out to Cayuga on Friday afternoon, all the power you can handle!

Seriously, if you want to see what your car would feel like with 350hp/350 ft-lbs at the wheels, I've got your exact car (1982 SC) with that output. 5 'til dark at TMS.

(edited...had the year wrong)

As an old racer, I did not see you use the power that you have now. Your shift points seemed low based on engine sound and while you hit the apex well on the corners, it did not seem like the car was anyway near the edge of traction. The suggestions above about Helmet should be mandatory and a good driving school is a bonus...did it twice when I was learning. I would have liked to see a video at days end to see the improvement in driver control. You might ask about heel and toe downshifting and braking as it will improve your times and experience.......GOOD LUCK and have FUN ! BTW..I loved MOSPORT in a FF2000 car !!!

The need power thing was a little tongue and cheek.....I did not push the car seeing it was my first time with the car and first time in a long time at mosport. Wanted to get a feel for the tires and the handing of the car, it is allot heaver than the 912.

Will post again later (with helmet).

They really are a fun car to drive!!!
