Rear view mirror
I just installed a good used Sigla windshield from a newer 911 and it came with this bracket attachment for the interior mirror:
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1338929469.jpg My old mirror was glued on, what's the easiest solution, remove the bracket (heat gun?) or do I need to buy a newer mirror? I don't want to risk breaking the glass. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1338929565.jpg |
Removing the button would be a risk for sure. I've never seen one removed without breaking the glass. I'd suggest a new/used late mirror if you're not concerned about originality.

buy the new mirror. thats what i did. there is a thread on all the people that have been frustrated glueing on replaments

+1
Also be advised that many 944 mirrors are a direct replacement for the SC/Carrera mirror w/the round 'foot' -- and usually less $$. Good luck |
Do replacement windshields come with a button for the rearview mirror or do you have to add them?
|
Thanks, sounds like a replacement mirror is the way to go then, used one is only $39 on eBay.

Can someone tell me if the mount on this mirror fits the button I have?

you'll see that it is. Good luck |
Thanks, tried my spare 993 mirror, that has a similar method of mounting with a bracket/clip but does not fit the earlier button.
