Need Help: SWB Restoration panel replacement
Hi Guys,
I'm restoring a very rough & rusty '67 swb 911. As I cut out rusty sections and replace with new metal, what should I paint/coat the inside of sections of the chassis that will be closed off once everything is welded up? For example the void between the smuggler's box, steering rack "hump" and inner fender well. No paint will be able touch these after it's closed off. Thanks for any suggestions.

Yes. Take any opportunity to protect both sides of the metal. If you can't get hi-zinc content paint in there, at least get a wax/oil product coating over the surfaces.

There are a variety of ways to tackle...some people epoxy prime everything...grind back to weld the spray waxiol or similar product through access holes. Check out Fishcops or my build for different approaches ![]()
