Front Control Arm Torsion Bars

I know that the front torsion bars must remain in their current positions with respect to left and right side installations but I was asked if the R and L stampings should be facing front or rear and I was stumped. I honestly don't know.

I assumed the R and L stamp on the torsion bars should face towards the rear but that is a gut feel. You experts out there please chime in......

Thanks in advance,

Henry

It doesn't matter. I know it seems counterintuitive but the bars twist the same way regardless of which end faces foreward. It is important to put them on the correct side of the car, and I install them with stamp to the rear just so they can be read more easily but if you want to put the stamps forward it won't hurt anything.

regards,
Phil

Thanks Phil. That was my gut feel but I hate to pass on a gut feel. I saw that the adjusters fit either end and I thought it didn't matter.

Cheers,

Henry

Always have the end with information (diameter, handedness, part number) facing out. This is so it can be read without extracting the bar.
