HP difference question
I currently have an 85 911 with a bypass and Dansk sport and am looking for a Steve Wong chip.
I was offered one for a car with stock exhaust and would like to know what the difference in HP would be in comparison to my car with the proper chip (with bypass). Anyone have any thoughts? |

I have the same and a SW comparison chart listed the change as around 15 for the chip and 10 for the exhaust. DO you have a 93 OCT chip?

Sure but the question I'm asking is what would be the hp difference between:
1. 85 with bypass, Dansk, and SW chip (stock car 93 octane) 2. 85 with bypass, Dansk, and SW chip (car with bypass 93 octane) Yes, I'm looking at 93 octane chips |

Asking Steve Wong would be the definative answer.

I just didn't want to bother him as the chip I'm looking at is used so he doesn't have any obligation to me and I wouldn't expect him to.

Then go to his website and look at the comparisons on the dyno. Just did it and it has a number of variables in different configurations....DG624 gave you his info above.

I dont think he has a 911 equipped with bypass tested with a chip tuned for it and with a chip not tuned for it.

I called Steve just to ask questions, he is a very approachable guy and his treatment of customers is outstanding. I would call and ask your question, I think he will be happy to talk to you.

While not being a customer today...a retailer always thinks of tomorrow so of course he will discuss with you and hopefully answer your questions. He may be able to tell you that the chip you want to buy is correct/not correct for your car...then you might just be a customer today ...YMMV
