Seat removal
Hello,
how do i remove my front seats , electric, from my 88 Targa? i received some advice from the forum about removing the 2 stops that were secured by hex bolts. done that but there must be more bolts to finish the job. help. getting new leather. yippee Thanks i |

I'm assuming you pushed your seat all the way to the back and you have already removed the two screws that hold the rails facing the front of the car, right? Now move your seat all the way to the front and remove the ones in the back, two on each side, that's it. You have electric seats so you have to disconnect that too. That's it.

yes, you can remove the rails, after the seats come out.

The stops on my 85, and every other Porsche I've owned, were welded in. (It's a safety thing)
Do it right and get a really good set of hex head sockets. Something like this would be even better for the ones under the rear of the seat. Bill K

I had a long hex wrench in my tool kit that worked well for the front...the seat bolster is in the way.
