Sloppy steering ? heads up ...

Hey guys,

My steering was feeling sloppy since my last track outing three weeks ago and i started reading all the posts about lunched steering "u" joints and many other atrocities until i did my one week prior to "track inspection" only to discover that one of my steering rack bolts had completely loosened and the other was only finger tight.
I had installed bump steer spacers three years ago with blue 242 Loctite and they managed to come loose, and yes i installed 1/2 inch longer bolts to compensate.
This time i reinstalled them with red 271 loctite and will pay more careful attention
even though the guard plate is a PITA to remove/install.
Just a heads up to remember to check those bolts from time to time !

Cheers !
Phil

Good advice.

A little bit more precise photo would be useful.

The red bump steer spacer in the picture is where the bolt for the steering rack is ... you have one on each side of the fuel pump ...

Cheers !

And you appear to be missing a bolt on the sway bar mount where the blue bushing is, but you probably already knew this.

OK, I get it, but on my car there is no fuel pump there, nor is there a guard plate. I'll have a look at it.

Wow, excuse me for my ignorance as I haven't gotten to work on that part of my car yet...
I just noticed you were missing a bolt, that's all...
