MAHLE P&Cs MYSTERY::??????

Can anyone help identify the contents of two Mahle boxes from the Mahle part numbers?

I can't seem to find anywhere that translates the numbers into a model or even a Porsche part number.

I'm learning slowly about 911's so any help would be appreciated.

First set; Mahle 503 24 00 STD
Six Mahle 79.97mm Dia Pistons, Rings, Pins
1.5mm top groove
2mm middle
4mm bottom

Narrowed it down to
2.0L 911?
68-69 911T or 65-69 E or L?
Am I on the right track? How can I tell which it is?

Second set; Mahle 503 45 90 EH5
Five (should be six but that is another story!) Mahle 83.97mm Pistons, Rings, Pins, clips, Cylinders.
I haven't taken the P's out of the C's to measure ring grooves. Do I have to?

I've worked out they're either 2.2 or 2.4 ???
From there I get lost with CIS and MI? No idea about either? and a multitude of compresions?
Where do I begin.

I like the idea of having a 911 to plant in the 912 one day so some of the parts may come in handy one day!

Cheers for any help you can give.

The top dome is symetrical, (spherical) but the valve cutaways are a little different to each other.
Not CIS?

Porsche Crest

Kiwi,

Most definitely either carbed or MfI ... the valve releif cuts are not identical because the intake and exhust valves are not the same diameter! Pics would help a lot.
