Help ..small accident in my garage !
Hi there,
Had a small accident where I scraped the 911 on the garage wall ! How do I get the paint off the *vinyl bit * near the rear wheel...what product do you recommend that would get it off without destroying the vinyl ? Cheers ![]() |

I would start with a little paint thinner on a rag and see how easily the paint comes off. If that too aggressive, try a dish scrubber or even bug/tar remover..
The stone guards are pretty cheap so replacing it isn't a big deal if it's ruined.

Clay bar should take that right off.

Some cleaner wax would make short work of that. I have also had really good luck using Goof-Off.

I've had success with using gasoline. My "accidents" have been exactly that, but on the paint. After you scrub off the damage, make sure you clean it well with water and apply any protectant as necessary.
Good luck. Lawrence |

I did some unbelievable things with some cleaner wax & elbow grease when my wife scraped a couple of doors on another cars bumper. I had some cleaner wax on hand so I gave it a shot. I was shocked.
IMO this would be the first place to start, and then get more agressive....n |

+1 on this. Even if the paint comes off, there will most likely be scrapes on the vinyl that won't be removable. It looks as if there is a bit more damage - a deep scratch - that will be the biggest issue.

Clay bar or cleaner wax obviously are not going to work on that surface.
You'll need some kind of a liquid solvent - I agree with trying Goof Off with a toothbrush, and quickly wash with soap and water afterwards. Paint thinner, or similar solvent, will probably work too. |
