Cibie and Front Valance Mount Questions

I am replacing the valance with foglamps on my 1980 SC with a stock valance w/o foglamp openings. At the same time I am replacing the headlamps with Euro H4's and mounting repro Cibie's on the hood. I have a couple fundamental questions for my install:
- Will I use the stock foglamp wiring for the Cibie install?
- How do I remove the stock Bosch foglamps? Do they simply unplug at the light or at the other end of the wiring?
- Anything else I should be aware of or R/R while I have the front valance removed?
Thanks, as always, for the advice!
Marvin

those are stock fogs, but not SC fogs. they are from a carrera. they attach inside the housing with push on clips. remove the 2 screws on either side of the lense, remove the cover, remove the lense. look inside the reflector plate and you will see a little hole/nub on one of the log sides. pull the opposite side of the reflector out and then it will all fall out (may take a little wiggling here). the connections will be obvious at that point.

Thanks, that makes sense because they were mounted in a RUF style valance. Do I use the wiring for the Cibie install?

i don't see why you couldn't. they would work just like your fogs did (same switch). it's just a + and a - line after all :)

You can also unplug them inside the deck lid.. Don't know the wattage difference, but you may want to install relays..

Are the fogs not already on relays from the factory?

I just checked the wiring diagram.. Indeed they are, my bad..

That is good news! I have disconnected the foglamps at the light and routed the wiring back up into the front trunk area. It seems that leaving this wiring in place has taken care of what could have been a real headache..... wiring for the Cibie's. Thanks for the advice.
