I might be of help. How are current receptacles mounted? To the sliders for the seat or to the floor?
I recently installed 993 seatbelts and receptacles in my 1979 911. My car has the receptacles mounted to the floor using a bracket. The 993 receptacle mounted to the bracket fine. The only issue I had was that the receptacles mounted loosely to the floor mount, so they would swing to the floor if not help up by the seatbelt. This wouldn't be a problem, but I didn't want the passenger one to rattle while driving without a passenger. To combat this, I used washers to kind of lock them in place about 45 degrees in the air. So if they mount to the floor, I don't think you'll have a problem. |

the 84 seats are single lockers, the 87 are double lockers (safety thing)
the 84 are probably manual, the 87 are probably power, both sides. power seats have the rails as an integral part of their chassis, and you cannot swap rails between those years. they are almost totally different animals. you will have to fabricate, or outsource, an acceptable center seat belt receiver, (unless the 87 has the tunnel mounted dual receiver - not sure) other than that the project is do-able, depending on how highly committed or motivated you are.
