911 84 wont start.
Ok guys, I've been searching the threads here for 3 days now, tried as much as I understand but the car still wont start
![]() Here we go: After about a 45 min drive, the car stalled on idle when returning home. After several attempts cot it bag in the garage. After that it will not start. So first thing was to get a new DME relay.-Installed-No start. Starter gas- Car will run for 3-4 sec. If cranking is repeated it can fire for 1-2 sec but no respond when pressing the gas pedal..... Hottwire the fuel pump and it runs fine. Result-Got igniting but no fuel..... Clue any one? All the best Stefan |

There are the other "usual suspects": head temp sensor, reference sensor.

Even though your fuel pump runs when you hot wire it, the pump might not be pushing any fuel. There is a test in the Bentley to test fuel pressure and volume. If fuel came out at any pressure though it is probably good and also test the injector harness/signal with a noid light - either order I guess - to see which direction to go. If you are getting a blinking noid light and fuel pressure then look at clogged/bad injectors.

Bill is right. I jumpered the DME to test the fuel pump, and it hummed....which temporarily led me to believe that it was working. To make a long story short, I replaced the fuel pump which solved my problem.
