With so many P Kar owners interested in enhancing performance why aren't there more aftermarket parts? Just look at what is available for most other cars. How about a gear drive for the cams adapted from the Porsche aircraft engine? tensioner failure would be history. And why hasn't someone developed something as simple as a roller cam follower? seems long overdue.

Well, there are Titanium valves available, and with appropriate cams and springs ... can go to 10,000 rpm! That seems high enough, and all you need are cubic dollars to punch the ticket for that kind of ride from Bob Norwood, Jerry Woods, etc.
Oh, you meant CHEAP PERFORMANCE PARTS, sorry! ------------------ Warren Hall 1973 911S Targa |

The Post 60's (Honda G.P. Motorcycle philosophy) approach, the more RPMs the better, isn't what I'm refering to. I'm talking about efficiency improvements that result in improved reliability, friction reduction, reduced maintenance, and longevity. Increased power is simply a by-product of this process. Isn't it interesting that there are so many quality products out there for domestic cars, some of it really innovative. True, you have to sift thru the junk, but how fertile the domestic aftermarket is in comparison to what's available for the P Kar.

How long has Porsche been manufacturing aircraft engines? This is the first reference that I have heard of here in the U.S..
