Need an engine dimension, if your engine is out

Anyone who currently has their stock (3.2L) engine out and still assembled, would you be so kind as to give me an overall width dimension at the widest, two most extreme points. I know it's somewhere less than 48", but I need to know how much side clearance is necessary when the engine is dropped, including anything normally still attached to the engine when it is lowered.

If this question is unclear, lemme know and I'll try to clarify.

from 3.0L motor....
36in from outer most edges of engine tin.

Great, at 36" wide, I'm in the clear for my application. Whew!

Over 39" and I'm screwed.

Thanks much, JohnC

John,
Not sure what application you have in mind, but the overall 'hard' dimension is around 7" less with the engine tin removed - it comes off quick and easy. Drop the muffler and rear tin to reduce the fore-aft dimension to its hard limits.

C'mon....what are you plotting that demands tight clearances???

My application...just that the engine must fit in a space of fixed width. VERY fixed.

Uh, probably will post pics (if it works out!). Probably will take a week or so, though. Thanks again for taking a moment to help me out SmileWavy
