I've also used 94 with no issue.

I thought I read some grumblings on Canadian forums that Shell was going to (or had gone already) to an E10 mix for their Premium fuel??

Already done. Whether they test and find something is another thing entirely. I have no idea what came out of the pump, but by the time the inspectors get to looking at it, there might be something else in the tank. It only takes a couple days to use up most of the fuel in the tank, depending on the size, of course.

From the way my exhaust smelled, I suspect there was an excess of an additive or some other solvent or what have you that didn't like my car. I have no idea and can't speculate other than to note what I observed.

I suppose if you are concerned about E-10 (or other) you could get one of these.

I'm not that concerned. But if I have a choice, I'll use the non-ethanol.
