mocal oil cooler
How is the quality, longevity and performance of the Mocal Oil Cooler?
Have a trombone. Doing the $5 and a beer oil line repair and could add a cooler while im in there... dont really want to spend a thousand dollars on a Elephant Racing setup... Other option is the late carerra kit but again, its double the price of the mocal kit. I really have no issues with the trombone. This is a street car.

Mocal are quality products made in the UK. I would get the long, narrow one with the outlets on top (narrow side) rather than the shorter, wider one with the outlets on the wide side. I have the former and it fits and works great. It is sold by BAT british american transfer or something like that which can be found with any search engine.

I had one for years (probably 10 years) on my car. Worked great, no leaks, etc. Judging from your signature (engine) and your location, I would buy the biggest one you can get, seal it off well in the wheel well and put a good fan on it.
I had the smaller Mocal kit that replaced the trombone and it worked great for my stock 2.7 (even on the track), but was not nearly enough for my 3.2. It was fine on the street, but inadequate on the track. I bought the larger "fender mount" Mocal (which actually ended up being a Setrab cooler, IIRC) and then modifed it to fit in the front bumper location and it works great. Oil temps are always low. I don't even have to watch them anymore.

the mocal kit is a great solution for the cost. i ran one for 7-8 years and around 5 of solid track duty with great results. you wanna get air diverted up into it and seal off around it so venting goes directly thru the cooler.

Thanks for all the comments. I took a look at BAT. Looks like with the long narrow one, incl fan, mounting kit is about $600... not cheap but better than the $900 that Id spend for a similar Carerra setup... Thanks for all the feedback...
