Porsche Crest 911SC Sunroof stalled

My 83 SC was repainted by a shop that was a bit challenged upon window and gasket re-installs. The one thing they did that is still outstanding has to do with the sunroof. They put the old felt gaskets in backwards, and it crept up as they tried to attach it to the roof instead of the panel. After pulling the panel, cleaning and reinstalling, the fit is fine but the power aspect doesn't work. It worked fine before the repaint and is smooth using the manual crank. The motor is spinning fine but not the transmision. Is the rubber coupler between those components a "breakaway" that will fail after trying to move something that shouldn't? Is there a clutch in the transmission that can be reset?
I have Bentleys but they don't refer resetting, perhaps because you can't. Any ideas?

It's probably the plastic pinion drive gear but there is also a rubber coupling between the gear box and the motor. See:

Jim, I'm thinking the coupler as it's not moving but the motor is. I wasn't sure if it was actually a clutch-type part. If it fails once it gets replaced I assume. Thanks for the response; I'll start with that first. Jeff

the metal, angled drive unit that attaches to the roof with two screws is a clutch unit. they can slip. it's the thing you attach the hand crank to.
