Where to get a 915 transmittion rebuilt

Hi,

Have a 1986 / 911 that I had a clutch put a couple of months ago. It came back with an issue popping out of third. Need it rebuilt. Do you know who is good and reasonable in my area. Live in Ma. but would ship it if necessary. Was ready to send in to Motor Meister but after reading all the negative postings changed my mind. Help.

search for Gary Fairbanks. He's in CT.

Old school here. No emails just leave a message on the old answering machine. He will call back.

Can't go wrong with Mark Nadler At Exotech in Plaistow, NH. (603) 382-3599. 75 miles from you. Honest, experienced & very, very reasonable prices.

Could this just be a coupler adjustment issue?

If the car wasn't popping out of gear prior to the new clutch, I don't see why it should be popping out now.

+1 on playing with the coupler first. My 930 started popping out of first halfway between FL and IA driving home after I bought it. A very small adjustment to the coupler and it hasn't happened in 1.5 years.

i'm thinking the same thing...sounds like the coupler adjustment might need to be tweaked if you didn't have the problem before

How about a 915 wanting to pop out of first. Could this also be a coupler adjustment?

Well if you mucked around with the coupler and/or had the tranny out recently....otherwise I'm not so sure...

I just had Gary rebuild my 915 gear box. Picked it up on Monday, shifts great!
