SC Not Starting - could it be ....

After reinstalling my engine after having it out for the past 4 months I tried starting it tonight. It just turns over and it appears like it is not getting gas. Could it be one of the following:
- Oxygen sensor not connected?
- the 2 wires in the tunnel (by the shift linkage) not connected?
- new fuel filter not getting gas?

Any other ideas? I removed the engine and did a pretty comprehensive refresh. I suspect it is something basic.

Check to see if you have spark! Do you still have FI?? If so check for power to the Ign Module (CD Box) and the coil while someone trys to start it! My CD Box went out and I had the same symptom! Also check your ground strap!

Have you checked your fuel pump relay? I had exactly the same problem.

Are you able to prime the injectors? Do they spray?

Do I have to prime the injectors? How do you do that? I do not think I am getting gas. Should I hear the fuel pump when I turn the ignition on? I do not hear anything.

you need to check for spark first! that is an easy check and cuts your problems in half.

if you have no spark:
turn the key on
raise the sensor plate and listen for a rather loud "whine" or squeal coming from the injection system.
now try to start it.

if no noise, your FP is not running

let us know the result

perhaps a little background:
why was it out?
what did you do to the engine while out?
did you do anything else to the car while it was out?
how did it run/start before you took it out?
do you have presure gauges and have you checked fuel pressure?

it isn't the first 2. it is either lack of fuel or lack of spark.

To provide some background, the car was running fine when I decided to pull the engine this Winter. I ended up doing more than I had planned but the primary efforts were around the standard oil leaks and new SSI's/muffler. Also put in a new clutch while I was in there.

Concluded that I am not getting a spark! What is the most logical candidate?

Can you hear the CDI Box wineing when the key is turned on? Check for power at the coil when the key is on!
