Going to have my car hauled to Orlando, what are the tie down spots on a 75 911s? I would like to point out or chaulk the spots when I drop it off so there is no misunderstanding with the hauler as where to tie it down. I'm a little nervous about the car being in someone's care besides mine, for some odd reason I keep thinking of that movie scene in Ferris Bueller's day off when the two parking garage guys are in the red Ferrari and their flying over an intersection with huge smiles going 100+!!!!

Mike,
I would only ship with a carrier that only used tire straps. I saw a 993 show up on a regualer car trailor and they had strapped the right rear axle to the the trailor. Needless to say, it needed some repair. I used Intercity lines to ship my car. They only use enclosed trailors and only tire tie downs. They were not any more expensive than anyone else either. On top of that, they were fast. If you haven't contracted with anyone yet, I would check them out. http://www.intercitylines.com/ Don 87 coupe |

To be perfectly honest, if they aren;t allowing the suspension to move, there's a good chance they'll damage the car... Only use a carrier that uses tire nets, or pickups that allow the car to move ont he suspension.
I had my racecar shipped from Philly to Chicago by Big Sky express. They've shipped for Ferrari, Barret Jackson auctions etc.. Really good people. Family owned and operated. www.bigskyexpress.com Names are Rock and Esther. Tell them Chris and Esther sent you. |

How is it going to damage the car if you do let the suspension move? (ie: tying down from the chassis?)
There are loops in the four corners of my 911 that I assumed were used to tie down the cars when shipping over here.. if so, kind of blows your "damage the car" theory. |
