Windshield Seal Question on a 930

Hi,
I've got a 1981 930 Turbo and was curious if a 964 or 993 windshield seal will properly work on my car? If so, are there any installation issues to be concerned about? Thanks!!!

Try the search. There are some good threads on this already. Going on memory the 964 is not a slam dunk. Some have done it and say it works others say won't work b/c the flange inside the windsheild opening is not the same size. 993 conversion is a bit more involved but appears to work.

When it comes time to replace my w/s I will seriously think about the 993 update. I have already spoken to a couple of glass guys who are willing to give it a try. I think it helps if you can find a glass guy who is a gearhead and wants to complete the job to see it done vs. just turning a profit. I think a lot of folks are scared off b/c of the increased cost of 993 glass. $900 or so vs. $300 or so for earlier glass. Local glass place told me they could source the 993 glass for $300 ish if I wanted to roll the dice on generic glass.

Search is your friend.

ETA: Here is one thread I have bookmarked.

993 windshield.
