Car not level when jacked up
When I jack my 1979 SC up by the bottom center of the engine (per 101 projects instructions), the driver's side of the car is higher than the passenger side. At my lift's full extension, the driver's side floor jack can sit an entire notch higher than the passenger side - about 2 inches. Is this correct?
I would think that lifting from the center should raise the car evenly. If not, is it possibly related to my issue of the driver's rear tire rubbing the fender during aggressive turns? EDIT: Apparently I'm delusional - a ruler showed they were exactly the same. |
The way the car is framed, the right rear is the likely side to rub.
Much like the need to roll the left front fender with 7 inch wheels. Bruce |

I'm reasonable certain that I have overly wide tires and should go down to stock size and width, but I'm still clinging onto hope that there's some other fix. EDIT: My garage floor is slightly tilted. Gaaaahhhh!!! |
